A few words about
“drossa maza”
“Drossa Maza” dance company was formed in Thessaloniki in January 1994. Since then and until 2006 it participated annually in the Dance Month and the International Dance Month, both organized by the Municipality of Thessaloniki. The company took part in the 1997 Dance Conference, organized by Thessaloniki – Cultural Capital of Europe Programme, as well as in the 1999 Biennale for Young Artists in Rome. The company has performed amongst others at B.Vitinarou Theatraki, the Municipal Theatre of Stavroupoli, the Municipal Theatre of Argiroupoli, the State Theatre Melina Merkouri and the Gea Theatre. In 1996 it was subsidized by the Greek Ministry of Culture.
“Drossa Maza” has often incorporated other art forms in its productions, such as theatre, painting, live music and video art. It has performed in alternative performance spaces, such as in streets, bars, market places, in the open, e.g.
Its works are composed through exploration and research. Improvisation is always the initiative from which the energy is drawn and used in a piece of work and at the same time the base of “education” for the performer.
By 2007 the team reformed, presented the following dance pieces:
a) «Personal Pronouns» in “1ο Balkan Performing Arts Market“–Κ.Θ.Β.Ε. and in 5ο Dance Festival and Greek Chorographers -Theatre “ROES”, Thessaloniki, Greece.
b) «By god’ will and weather permitting» 12ο International month of Dance Thessaloniki-Athletic Center “SFAGEIA” and “Christos Tsakiris” Theatre in Stavroupoli, Thessaloniki, Greece.
Drossa Maza will paritcipate and represent Greece to XIV BJCEM SKOPJE 2009.
«Δρώσα Μάζα»
Η αστική μη κερδοσκοπική εταιρία «δρώσα μάζα» είναι ομάδα χορού που έχει έδρα την Θεσσαλονίκη από το 1994. Εμπνεύστρια και χορογράφος της ομάδας είναι η Αυγή Προγκίδη .
Η «δρώσα μάζα» συμμετείχε κάθε χρόνο έως και το 2000 στο Διεθνή Μήνα Χορού ( διοργάνωση της Διεύθυνσης πολιτισμού του Δήμου Θεσσαλονίκης). Επίσης έλαβε μέρος : 1996 – ΕΤ3 στον κύκλο εκπομπών ενόψει της πολιτιστικής πρωτεύουσας με τους κ. Μαρωνίτη και Παρασχόπουλο «Θεσσαλονίκη επαρχία πρωτεύουσα η πρωτεύουσα επαρχία», συμμετείχε στις διοργανώσεις Ο.Π.Π.Ε.Θ 1997 : «τέχνη στο δρόμο» ,έναρξη πρωτοχρονιά στην παραλία, «Χορευτικές Συναντήσεις», και το 1998 στο ολονύχτιο πολυθέαμα «βόλτα στο φεγγάρι» .
Το 1999 παρουσιάστηκε στη Biennale νέων καλλιτεχνών της Ρώμης. Το 2003 στο Μήνα Χορού -Αθήνα που διοργανώνει το Σωματείο Ελλήνων Χορογράφων, όπως και στο αφιέρωμα για τον Ντανιέλ Λομέλ στο Θέατρο Μελίνα Μερκούρη-Θεσσαλονίκη.
Η δρώσα μάζα αποτελείται κυρίως από νέους χορευτές , η θεματολογία της είναι ποικίλη όπως και οι τεχνικές που ακολουθεί.
Τέλος έχει παρουσιάσει performances σε εναλλακτικούς χώρους – δρόμος, μπαρ, αγορά, φύση, μνημείο- όπως και Dance-jams με άλλους καλλιτέχνες.(εικαστικά, κινηματογράφο, μουσική).
Από το 2007 η σύνθεση της ομάδας έγινε ξανά σταθερή και παρουσίασε τα έργα:α. «προσωπικές αντωνυμίες» στο 1ο «Balkan Performing Arts Market»–Κ.Θ.Β.Ε. και στο 5ο Φεστιβάλ Χορού Ελλήνων Χορογράφων -Θέατρο Ροές, β. «Θεού θέλοντος και καιρού επιτρέποντος» στον 12ο Διεθνή Μήνα Χορού Θεσσαλονίκης-Αθλητικό Κέντρο Σφαγείων και στο Δημοτικό Θέατρο Σταυρούπολης.
